Jean Gonzalez Lomasto graduated with a BA in theatre from USC, here in Columbia, and an MFA in costume design from UVA, in Charlottesville, VA.  She worked for several years in New York touring with Alvin Ailey as the wardrobe supervisor, and designed Dudley William’s costume for his final solo with the company at City Center in New York.  She also worked as Julliard’s wardrobe supervisor, and as a buyer and special projects construction person for various costume houses in the city, including Karinska’s, Grace’s, Parson-Meares and others.   She worked with her former teacher from USC, Lyn Carroll and Santo Loquasto on Woody Allen films.  Jean has two adult sons who live on the west coast, where she designed costumes for Aramazd’s production of Picasso’s Women, in No Ho and Aunt Dan and Lemon at Luna Theatre in Glendale, CA.   Here in Columbia, she is a member of Trustus, where she has designed several productions, including Marie Antoinette and Peter and the Starcatcher.   Most recently she designed costumes for Opera at USC’s productions of Sunday in the Park with George and Later the Same Evening, both performed at Drayton Hall.
